As a result of a large amount of carbon dioxide emissions, there is a sharp rise in high-temperature weather, which has an irreversible impact on our environment and ecology. Scientists say, “Changing weather patterns linked to rising global temperatures have resulted in a dearth of wind northern China, according to several recent studies, exacerbating a wave of severe pollution that has been blamed for millions of premature deaths”. However, when I returned home last Christmas, there was no snow on the street, instead, it was a warm winter with sunshine. The continued of global warming may not only bring about changes in climate. The world may predict more changes due to global warming in the future.

The Protection of Ozone Layer to Earth: Why It Matters

The ozone layer is a fragile shield of gas that protects the Earth from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Without this layer, the Earth would be exposed to dangerous levels of UV radiation, causing severe damage to the environment, human health, and ecosystems.

The ozone layer is made up of three-atom oxygen molecules, which absorb most of the UV radiation from the sun. This layer is located in the stratosphere, approximately 9-30 miles above the Earth’s surface. While the ozone layer is naturally occurring, it is also vulnerable to human-made chemicals, such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), which can damage the ozone layer.

The depletion of the ozone layer has been linked to a number of environmental and health issues, including increased rates of skin cancer, cataracts, and other eye damage, as well as increased levels of UV radiation in plants and animals. In addition, the ozone layer helps to regulate the Earth’s climate by trapping heat in the atmosphere.

Therefore, it is essential that we take steps to protect the ozone layer. This includes reducing emissions of CFCs, as well as other ozone-depleting substances, such as hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and halons. In addition, governments around the world have signed the Montreal Protocol, an international treaty that sets limits on the production and use of ozone-depleting substances.

The protection of the ozone layer is essential for the health of our planet and its inhabitants. By reducing emissions of CFCs and other ozone-depleting substances, we can help to ensure that the ozone layer remains intact and that the Earth is protected from the harmful effects of UV radiation.
