Last night was such a hot night, it felt like the air was completely still. The temperature outside was sweltering, and the humidity made it even worse. I had to keep my windows open all night to try and get some relief from the heat, but it was still unbearable.
I tried to stay cool by taking cold showers and drinking plenty of water, but it was still no match for the heat. I had to resort to sleeping on the floor with a fan pointed directly at me to try and get some relief. Even then, I was still sweating and tossing and turning all night.
My friends and family were in the same boat as me, all of us trying to find ways to cope with the heat. Some of us were wearing shorts and tank tops, while others were trying to stay cool by taking cold showers and drinking plenty of water.
It was so hot, even the animals were feeling the heat. My dog was panting and trying to find ways to stay cool, while the birds were chirping louder than usual, trying to beat the heat.
The heat wave finally broke this morning, and I woke up to a cool breeze and the sound of birds chirping. It was such a relief to be able to open the windows and let the fresh air in.
Last night was such a hot night, but thankfully it’s over. Now, all I need is a good night’s sleep to make up for the lost hours of rest.
