The survival of tigers was once threatened due to hunting before it was banned. Tigers have been hunted for centuries and it has been a major threat to their survival. In the past, tigers were hunted for their fur, meat, and for sport. The demand for tiger parts for traditional medicines has also been a major threat to their survival.

The illegal wildlife trade has also been a major factor in the decline of tiger populations. Poachers have been targeting tigers for their valuable body parts, which are then sold on the black market. This has caused a dramatic decrease in the tiger population, as it has been estimated that over the last century, the number of tigers in the wild has decreased by 95%.

The destruction of their habitats has also been a major factor in the decline of tigers. As human populations have grown and more land has been developed, tigers have been pushed out of their natural habitats. This has led to a decrease in the amount of prey available to tigers, as well as a decrease in their overall habitat.

Fortunately, hunting of tigers has been banned and conservation efforts have been put in place to help protect them. The World Wildlife Fund has been working to protect tigers in their natural habitats and to reduce the demand for tiger parts. In addition, governments have put laws in place to protect tigers from poaching and illegal wildlife trade.

While the banning of hunting has helped to improve the situation for tigers, there is still much work to be done. The destruction of their habitats continues to be a major threat to their survival and it is important that we continue to work to protect tigers and their habitats. Only then can we ensure that tigers will remain a part of our world for generations to come.
